IAPViewer Age Suitability
1. What the 4+ Rating Means
Apple's App Store age rating measures the content of an app — whether it contains material such as violence, mature or suggestive themes, profanity, gambling, or user-generated content that could expose a minor to inappropriate material.
IAPViewer contains none of that. It displays read-only technical data — access point status, radio channels, connected client counts, and RF measurements — retrieved from network equipment the user already owns or administers. There is no chat, no user-generated content, no advertising, no in-app browsing of the open web, and no purchasable content directed at anyone. Because there is nothing in the app that is unsuitable for any age, Apple's questionnaire correctly calculates the lowest rating: 4+.
A 4+ rating therefore means "contains nothing objectionable." It does not mean "made for young children," and IAPViewer is not.
2. Who IAPViewer Is For
IAPViewer is a specialised administrative client for HPE Aruba Networking Instant Access Point (Aruba IAP) clusters. Its intended users are:
- Wi-Fi and network administrators
- IT and infrastructure professionals
- Technically experienced individuals managing their own home-lab or small-business Aruba networks
- Students and educators working with their own Aruba equipment
Using the app meaningfully requires access to Aruba networking hardware, valid administrative credentials for a Virtual Controller, and an understanding of Wi-Fi and IP networking concepts. It is not a game, a media app, or a general-consumer utility, and it offers nothing of use or interest to a child.
3. Not Designed For or Directed At Children
IAPViewer is not intended for, designed for, marketed to, or directed at children. Specifically:
- The app is not categorised as a "Kids" app and is not part of the App Store Kids Category.
- Its content, function, and audience are entirely oriented toward adult IT and network administration.
- It requires adult-level technical knowledge and access to network infrastructure to be usable at all.
- Nothing in the app's design, artwork, or subject matter is aimed at appealing to children.
4. No Data Collection From Anyone — Including Children
IAPViewer does not collect, transmit, or process personal data from any user, of any age. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no accounts, and no tracking. Because the app collects no personal information whatsoever, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and it presents none of the data-collection concerns that child-privacy regulations (such as COPPA in the United States and the GDPR-K provisions in the EU/UK) are designed to address. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
