Terms of Use Effective July 4, 2026 Updated August 16, 2026

IAPViewer Terms of Use

Summary: IAPViewer is a read-only administrative client for Aruba IAP clusters, provided as-is by an independent developer with no warranty and no guaranteed support. It never changes your controller itself; it can generate CLI scripts (for example to deny a client or reboot an AP) that you review and apply yourself, at your own responsibility. Use it only on networks you own or are authorised to administer. You accept these terms by installing or using the app.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the IAPViewer application ("the App") and the support resources at https://iapviewer.bdlfoundry.dev ("the Support Site"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

1. What IAPViewer Is

IAPViewer is a read-only administrative client for HPE Aruba Networking Instant Access Point (Aruba IAP) Virtual Controller clusters running AOS 8 (versions 8.6–8.13). It connects to a Virtual Controller you own or are authorised to manage, reads operational data the controller has already collected, and presents it on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Silicon Mac (via "Designed for iPad").

The App never executes configuration changes and holds no SSH or remote-execution capability. For certain administrative tasks (such as deny-listing a client, disconnecting a client, or rebooting an access point) the App can generate command-line scripts as text for you to copy. Whether and how you apply such scripts is entirely your decision and responsibility; the App only displays them.

The App is intended for Wi-Fi administrators, network professionals, and educational use by individuals working with their own Aruba IAP deployments.

2. Authorised Use Only

You may use the App only to monitor and administer Aruba IAP networks that you:

Use of the App against networks or controllers without proper authorisation is prohibited.

The App may surface information about neighbouring (non-cluster) Wi-Fi networks that your own Aruba access points have detected as part of their normal RF scanning. This is data the Aruba Virtual Controller has already collected from its own access points, retrieved via Aruba's documented REST API. You agree to use this neighbour information only for lawful purposes, including RF planning, interference diagnosis, and assessing the RF environment of networks you administer.

You are responsible for compliance with all applicable local, regional, and national laws governing radio observation, network monitoring, and cybersecurity activity in your jurisdiction. Laws vary significantly between jurisdictions. IAPViewer cannot determine what is lawful in your location.

3. What IAPViewer Does Not Do

For clarity:

All data the App displays originates from your own Aruba Virtual Controller's existing observation capabilities, accessed via Aruba's documented REST API. See the Privacy Policy for full detail on what data the App handles and where it goes.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree:

5. Misuse of the App's Features

Some of the App's features — including RF Location, RF Neighbors, Foreign SSID Detail, and any capability that surfaces information about neighbouring or foreign Wi-Fi devices — are provided solely to help you identify and reduce interference, locate rogue or unauthorised devices, and manage the RF environment within networks and premises you own or are authorised to administer (your own site, premises, or campus).

You must not use these features, or any output they produce, to:

The estimates, locations, identifiers, and other information the App produces are approximate and provided for your own network-management purposes only. Using them for any other purpose is a misuse of the App and a violation of these Terms.

No liability for misuse. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for — and you release the developer from — any claim, damage, loss, or liability of any kind arising from your misuse of the App or its features, or from any use that violates these Terms or applicable law. You alone are responsible for how you use the App's features and for the consequences of that use, and you agree to indemnify the developer as set out in the Indemnification section.

6. No Warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer disclaims all warranties including:

Note: There is no service-level agreement and no commitment to release updates, fixes, or new features on any timeline. Support is provided on a best-effort basis with no guaranteed response time, as described on the Support page.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any damages whatsoever — including direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — arising from or related to:

This limitation applies even if the developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the developer from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

9. Not a Substitute for Professional Advice

The App is not a substitute for a professional Wi-Fi survey, security assessment, penetration test, or compliance audit. Any operational or security decisions you make based on the App's output are your own responsibility.

10. Modifications

The developer may modify these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on the Support Site. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

The developer may modify, discontinue, or remove any feature of the App or the Support Site at any time without notice.

11. Apple App Store

If you obtained the App through Apple's App Store or TestFlight:

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, except where prohibited by applicable consumer protection law.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms or about the App can be raised via the Support page or by email.
